Ellianor Gail Anderson Collins, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Cody Regional Hospital due to complications from surgery. She was born July 14, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri to Elton and Ellianor Andersen. Shortly after that, the family moved to Lovell, Wyoming, where they made their permanent home.
There, she met the love of her life Curtis LeRoy Collins. He said for him at least “it was love at first sight.” Gail graduated from Lovell High School in 1973 and on June 26th of that same year, she and LeRoy were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City temple.
Gail and LeRoy were blessed with six beautiful children – 5 boys and 1 girl. Gail valued her family above all, which included nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. She loved them like they were her own. Gail loved the Lord and lived to serve others.
Gail loved the beauty of nature and going on the side-by-side and long drives with LeRoy. She taught her family to work hard, be fair and to help others. She was always encouraging to everyone, often reminding them “You can do anything you put your mind to” and she meant it.
Gail graduated with her associate degree from Northwest College in Early Childhood Development. Gail was an exceptionally hard worker and taught her family the same traits. She worked at Lovell HeadStart where she was known as teacher Gail to many. She loved her coworkers and the children she taught. She was also the head lifeguard at the Lovell Rec Center for many years. She was well loved by those that knew her and in return, she loved those that she served.
Gail was preceded in death by her father Elton Anderson and mother Ellianor Anderson, siblings Gene Anderson, Jack Anderson, David Anderson, Rex Anderson and Shirley Collins, her son Joshua Collins, and grandson Kage Collins. She is survived by her husband LeRoy Collins, her children Nathan (Karman) Collins, Daughter-in-law Sarah Collins, Dax (Angie) Collins, Kieley (Natalie) Collins, Keela (Landon) Walters, and Levi (Savanah) Collins, her sister Jean Kay (Robert) Howe as well as twenty-two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lovell Cemetery.
